He is the co-founder and Principal Partner of Khalek Awang & Associates, a firm of Advocates & Solicitors, and has been in legal practice for more than 22 years.
Before that, he was a law lecturer at IIUM for 5 years. He holds a Master of Comparative Laws, a Bachelor of Laws and a Post Graduate Diploma in Shariah Law and Practice from the International Islamic University Malaysia

She is a co-founder and Managing Partner since 1998 until now. She is responsible in the overall management, planning and forecast for the Firm, daily operations, finance and business of the Firm. She has acted for multinationals in various fields concerning the establishment of businesses, merger and acquisition, joint venture, partnership, franchising, leasing, sale of goods, supply of services and goods, distributorship, dealership, agency, employment, turnkey agreement, tender documentation, industrial relations, and corporate secretarial matters.
She was appointed as the Director of Silver Ridge Holdings Berhad on 30th March 2006, a director in charge of Legal as well as the legal representative for the Company. She advises on general corporate and commercial matters including due diligence, listing and compliance requirements as well as queries from Bursa Malaysia and the Securities Commission. Her vast experience in Conveyancing, Real Estate, Land Dealings Construction and Property Development Projects has earned her the recognition and trust of clients in advising and representing them in all aspects of property related work dealings with a wide range of properties, from residential, commercial, industrial properties, land to hotels.
She was the Chairman of Investigating Tribunal, Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board of the Bar Council for two consecutive terms. She graduated from International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) (2nd Upper) degree in 1993. She obtained Diploma In Translation (Legal Text, etc) (Disnc) from Institut Terjemahan Negara Malaysia (ITNM) in 1998. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor on the 10th of June 1993 and has been in active legal practice for the last 27 years.
ARIK ZAKRI DATO’ ABDUL KADIR

Called to the Bar in November 2006, the genesis of Arik’s career as a trusted legal advisor was shaped by his training in the chambers of Tan Sri Dato’ Muhammad Shafee bin Md Abdullah, where he assisted in various high-profile cases. Arik draws on over 7 years’ experience as a Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Attorney-General’s Chambers and as Senior Manager, Enforcement Division with the Securities Commission Malaysia. With a forte in court work, Arik advises on shareholders’ disputes, Bursa listing requirements, investment holding, and company secretarial practices. Together with partner Ahmad Kamal, in 2014 they co-founded the Chambers of Arik & Kamal, a boutique litigation and corporate practice based in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor
Ahmad Kamal Abu Bakar

Hailing from Kuala Lumpur and is a graduate of the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. Upon acquiring his LL.B (Hons) in 2006, he chambered with Messrs. Khalek Awang & Associates upon which after he was retained by the firm as a Legal Assistant. He was, two years later entrusted with the helm of the firm’s Litigation Department when he was appointed acting head of the department. He later joined Telekom Malaysia (“TM”), as a Corporate Counsel, providing legal solutions to TM’s wholesale business and later appointed Manager at TM’s Procurement group to manage the overall contracting and documentation of TM’s many procurement arrangements and agreements.
He joined at a time when TM was fast embarking and expanding its high-speed broadband offerings which entailed numerous and countless negotiations with strategic partners and competitors alike. His dedications and initiatives were appreciated by TM – an appreciation best expressed by the conferment of TM’s Group Leadership Team Award. He then furthered his career by joining the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) as Prosecution Officer. His time with the SC allowed him to explore the realm of amongst others, insider trading and market manipulation. Upon finding himself satisfied with the eclectic experience he had garnered throughout a period of 8 years, he co-founded The Chambers of Arik & Kamal alongside Arik Zakri Dato’ Abdul Kadir. Kamal’s practice focuses on corporate drafting and court litigation – two often distinct areas of the law. He strongly believes that a good litigator makes a better drafter. Throughout the years, he has appeared in cases ranging from those before the lower courts up to the apex courts
Nurul Hidayah Ibrahim

Holding a Bachelor of Syariah and Laws (Hons) and an advanced Diploma In Islamic Judicial and Advocatory Practice from the Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM), Nurul Hidayah was set to carry out her duties as a Syariah Practitioner. She later undertook Syariah Chambering in Messrs. Muiz Samsuri & Co. where she was exposed to a myriad of court applications as well as advisory related briefs. In 2013, the Faculty of Shariah and Law of her alma mater USIM appointed her as a Research Assistant in a Government-funded project involving the development of Customary Land. This opportunity did not only further sharpen her research talent but also gave her a greater insight of land law and its administration as well as the challenges involved in dealing with customary and inherited estate. In 2016, Nurul joined The Chambers of Arik & Kamal as the Head of the Syariah Department.
